How to make this kind of photo:

I am sure there is a million different ways you could do this but this is the way that I did it~

1) Open up a photo of your choice in photoshop.

2) Make a duplicate of the photo by going to image> then > duplicate.

3) Take one of the photos and turn it to black and white by doing the following: image> adjustments> channel mixer. Once your in channel mixer > click monochrome in bottom left corner. Then move the green slider to the right to about +50%. Then move the constant slider at the bottom to around -28% give or take depending on how much contrast you like.

5) Now go back to the color photo and click on the magnetic lasso tool on the tool bar (if you can’t see the magnetic lasso, then just right click on the lasso tool and it should be the one on the bottom). Now carefully lasso around the object you wish to stay colored.

6)Once that is all lassoed, go back to the tool bar and click on the Move tool which should be at the top right. Make sure you can see part of both photos (the color and black and white). Click on the color lassoed part and drag it to the black and white photo. Now move it around till it fits right over top of the black and white image where you want it to go.

7) If there are any bits of the colored photo that remain that you don’t want on the black and white photo, you can clean it up with the eraser tool or magic wand tool etc.

8) Now your done! If that is confusing in any way, please leave a comment and I will try to clear it up! Have fun!
